Summer Fun Kit

Hi Scrappers!!!!!

Susie gave all of us on the design team the same "Summer Fun Kit", and asked us to create something.  Since creating something is what we do best. I think all of us agreed that these are not papers that we would have chosen but it was challenging and I truly enjoyed doing my first layout ever.  I hope you like it!!!  All items used for this layout are available in the Scrap Happy Ohio Store.

Summer's coming to a close but American Craft's Shoreline is still HOT!

This month Susie gave each member on the Design Team the EXACT SAME ITEMS to work with, so if you are seeing a little redundancy of product, don't adjust your screen, all is well :) .  It's because August has been a busy month for all of us, vacations, moving, sending children back to school, etc., but it is also a month of transition, out with the old and in with the new, all the new goodies from CHA are coming in daily and Susie has clearanced out tons of wonderful older items, up to 50% off.  Let me tell you, I'm no dummy, I took advantage of those deals and already have my eyes set on all the new stuff, !  Speaking of, have you heard and seen all the new Scrap Happy Exclusive stamps and stamp sets?  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Winter, Birthday.  OMG, so much beautious rubber and acrylic to ink up.  If you haven't please check them all out, HERE!

Okay, onto my Design Team project using American Crafts' Shoreline collection.  A beautiful, Summery line with bold colors, very gender neutral and lots of fun, I just can't get enough of the cutesy flip flops, surfboards, and bicycles scattered throughout the collection.  Below is a close-up of my project.  I did a card and a little gift bag with a pocket on the front to house the card I made!  Isn't it cute?
I used both the 6x6 pad and 12x12 collection pack to complete this project.
For the card I used Scrap Happy Sno Cone card base and covered the front completely with the designer paper.  I then cut a smaller piece of white cardstock, inked the edges in Scrap Happy Blue Raspberry Ink making it look almost like a sky.  I used the brand new Scrap Happy Thanksgiving stamp set for my sentiment, cut three sets of banners from the Scrap Happy Rounded Banner Trio Die lined them up and marked in pencil where I wanted the string.  I then used my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy basic head to poke the holes for the banner then sewed it with coordination Sew Easy thread in Watermelon.  Glued everything on then added two Basic Grey brads tied a couple small ribbons, placed the rosette from the collection to mimic a sun and I was all done!
For the bag I inked the edges in Scrap Happy Blue Raspberry Ink adhered some coordinating paper, punched an edge with my EK Success Large Scallop Border punch and made a pocket to fit my card inside.  The card had so much dimension I didn't want to squash it in an envelope so I thought it would be cute, since they match to stick it in front.  I again added a larger rosette from the collection on the opposite corner as I did on the card.  Easy Peasy and so cute.
This is a picture of the bag....
And this shows a close-up of my card actually inside the pocket on the bag.

Okay, there you have it, my quick and easy project for this week :)  It will be in store for your viewing pleasure later this week.

One last thing before I retire for the night, we were also asked to submit a little Bio so to make things more smooth I shall add it to the end of this.  Have a great night and a Scrap Happy Day!

Design Team Bo Bunny - Mango Luau

So I was handed some paper that I would normally not work with and was stumped for a moment. And then I began to think..........SURFBOARD

But it couldn't be just any surfboard. It had to be a mini album. So I took theSilhouette and cut out a surfboard shape covered all the pages front and back with the Bo Bunny - Mango Luau and went from there. I decided it would look kinda cute as a sign so I used binder rings and my Big Shot to cut out the sign bracket and also covered that front and back with the card stock. I used the stickers from the collection and Scrap Happy Orange Fizz and Jellybean Green Inks and Cardstockthroughout.

I inked all the edges and popped up the surfboards on this page. Behind that is a little mini book to pull out to add photos to, front and back.

The next page is tied with ribbon from the Sew Ribbon and I love how it matched up with the orange in the paper.

This too folds out to add more pictures to.

The last couple pages have stickers added and have more space to add pictures and journal.

Hope you enjoy this weeks project and get a chance to get to the store to try out all of the products used in this project and much more.

Hello everyone.  Happy Monday.  Today I have a card for you made from our summer fun kit.  Now, this is not material that I would normally use, but Susie insisted that we all try to do something out of our norm.  So of course I made a card with Beach Marci from La-La Land Crafts, but I changed her a bit.  I paper pieced her bathing suit and hat (not any easy feat, believe me).  I colored her with my Copics.  On her hat is a Peebles Candy Dot in green (which can be found at Scrap Happy.  The dies are from the Cloud, Sun and Island Set from La-La LandCrafts.  The palm tree I cut out from my Silhouette Cameo (love that machine).  The coconuts are pearls that I colored brown.  I used Star Dust Stickles on the sun to make it shine.  I hope you enjoy my Beach Marci as much as I did making her.

New stamps and dies are arriving for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  You don't want to miss out, exclusive to Scrap Happy.  Until next time, have a happy day.

Copics used:

Flesh E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair E27, 25, 23

Exclusive Scrap Happy Stamp

I was asked to be a Guest Cupcake for the Cupcake Challenge 4 th birthday celebration.  This is the card I made and I absolutely LOVE it.  I used Scrap happy's wonderful stamp. This image is so much fun to color.  Everything I used to make this card is available at the Scrap Happy Store. I made the flower using "Honey Pop",  and the filigree corners, are a La La Die. I hope you enjoyed your visit.

"Shoreline", 6 x 6 by American Craft

Hi fellow scrappers! It's me Cathy. I almost always make cards, but I saw this tutorial on YouTube and I thought it looked like fun. So I asked a friend for some pics of her children and this is what I came up with a "Squash Book".  I used the 6x6 paper pack Shoreline, The embellishments are made to coordinate with these papers. The ribbon is by We R Memory Keepers. I used stickers by Imaginisce. I used Snag' em Stamps to stamp the background on the tags.  All products to make my Squash book are available in the store but you must bring your own pics.

I put lined cardstock on the back of all tags for journaling and there are places to journal in the book to record fond memories.  This project was so much fun I hope you enjoy viewing it....See ya soon!Crafting Cathy

Shoreline by American Crafts

Come sail away with me.

American Crafts Shoreline reminds me of days of summer. Relaxing in the sand, watching the sun set. With this card I was trying to get the feel of resting on the water in the middle of the ocean, with the sun high in the sky. Using Scrap Happy cardstock as my base and AC Shoreline as my background. I used the DIY Thickers and turquoise embossing powder from AC. All products used in making this card can be found at Scrap Happy Ohio, online and in the store. Make sure to stop by and check out all the new items from CHA too.

After making my card I was still wanting to play around with this adorable paper. So I grabbed another piece of Scrap Happy cardstock and started playing. This is just a little brag book made with cardstock and pieces of the 6 x 6 stack of Shoreline.

Make sure to check it all out at

Blessings -

A little bit Lively 'round here with some more Authentique

It has been a very busy week for us on the Scrap Happy design team.  Can you tell, all these beautiful projects posted?!  Well, on this, the last day of the month, I am going to just barely squeeze in yet another project!  I shall make this a quicker than usual post as I am glued to the Olympics and the very handsome, scantily clad maleswimmers, ooh la la!  ;)

I put together a quick layout using Authentique's Lively.  I know, surprise, surprise Candy is using Authentique again.  What can I say, I am IN LOVE.  This line is very quirky and fun.  Phenomenal color combinations and fun patterns and perfect for late Summer.  I ADORE the wood grain paper which I used as the main paper in my layout, and it went perfectly with the picture I had chosen.  Little Sidney is the Niece of a great friend of mine and she is just absolutely adorable and this photo spoke to me, what a sweet look of pure contentment on her young face, and that was how the title came about.

I actually whipped this baby up in about 2 hours, my mojo was in full swing.  I got to use one of my favorite tools, the We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon.  I use this particular one so much I am going to have to get another one, my blades are dulling!  This one is the pink one, called "weave".  I used the pink twill ribbon in "Bubblegum" up the left side and across part of the top.  I actually made a boo boo, which is why I only went part way across.  But my mantra is "THERE ARE NO MISTAKES IN CRAFTING" so I took the opportunity and added some great Maya Road pleated twill ribbon in a great matching chartreuse color.  I liked it so well I added more on the bottom.  I wanted to make sure all the colors were balanced so I topped it with MORE great Maya Road trim in Hot Pink ric rac.  I don't use it often enough but I took my Tim Holtz  Tiny Attatcher and stapled it on for a more rustic look.  Well, more so because I didn't want to get my hot glue gun out, but I like the rustic look ;)

As in my last layout using Authentique I used many of the alpha stickers and stickers in general.  They are just a great aspect of Authentique's lines, always a favorite of mine.  I used a lot of random stuff from my stash like the buttons and some hemp twine, but got them all at Scrap Happy.  Trust me 98% of everything crafty I own is from Scrap Happy and Susie LOVES me for it!
Since this layout isn't for me, it will ultimately be a gift for little Sidney's grandma and wife of the #1 Grampy in the picture ;) I didn't do any journaling so I left that blank, but what I did was make a pocket under the mat for the picture and put in a little journaling spot.  I used an adorable tab sticker from the sheet and it will pull-out and in.  It is functional AND adorable. These next photos are of the front and back of the journaling spot.

Well, that is it for now.   As always, everything used can be found at Scrap Happy.  This and my last layout for design team along with specifications for each will be on display starting this Friday.

Have a Scrap Happy Day!
~Hugs~
